My hometown is Altoona. Juniata Gap was the elementary school I attended. I went to Keith Jr. High School for two years and then on to Bishop Guilfoyle High School.
After graduating from Penn State University, I began teaching first grade at Juniata Elementary and have been fortunate to be teaching the same exciting grade level for the past 28 years. A lot has changed over the years, but my enthusiasm and passion to teach first graders remains strong. Being one of eight kids, I come from a large family and am lucky to be surrounded by many wonderful nieces and nephews. I love attending as many of their after school events as I can. Family gatherings especially during the holidays are a big deal, and greatly cherished. I look forward to the occasions when we plan vacations to the Outer Banks in NC. Summer vacation gives me many opportunities to be outdoors tending my flowers, reading lots of books, and visiting with family and friends.
