About Me: I started my college education at Juniata College. I was recruited to be on the Track & Field team. After three years, I transferred to Penn State. I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Elementary Education. This is my 10th year teaching. My career with the Altoona Area School District began in 2006. I was hired as a First Grade teacher at Washington Jefferson Elementary School. I taught there for 7 years before it closed. Then I moved to Juniata Elementary where I have been teaching First Grade for 3 years.
I LOVE teaching 1st Grade! I believe that learning should be hands-on, full of content and rigor, creative, and meaningful. Most of all, learning should be FUN! There's nothing I love more than knowing my students don't even realize they're learning because they're having so much fun through the process.
When I’m not teaching… I am married to a wonderful man, Andrew, who supports me in all of my endeavors. We have been together for 18 years, but married for 6 years. This year will be our 7th Anniversary. We enjoy hunting and fishing together. I love Penn State, the Steelers, watching movies, traveling, the beach, and spending time with family and friends. I have 2 fur babies. My Shiba Inu dogs are named Remi and Kimber.
