Welcome to the 4th Grade Webpage
Fourth grade is a wonderful and amazing place for your child to learn and grow. Our teachers have high expectations for well-behaved, productive, and responsible students.
It is imperative that you encourage your child to enjoy reading and writing at home on a regular basis. We follow the AASD curriculum map to ensure we are meeting the expectations of the Fourth Grade curriculum. http://cmapp.aasdcat.com/home
Finally, communication is a powerful way to open doors with your child’s teacher. Whenever possible feel free to discuss your child’s progress with his or her teacher. Best wishes for a safe, supportive, and superior year in fourth grade.
This year Fourth grade is trying a bit of departmentalization. Mrs. Hescox will be teaching the Core Reading, Ms. Harris the Social Studies/Health curriculum, and Mrs. Hatch the Science Standards.
Fourth Grade is the beginning of graded work in Health, Social Studies, and Science.
Science will be challenging this year. We have numerous topics to explore and discover all while sharpening our non-fiction reading comprehension skills to uncover all the wonders of Science. In addition, we will be using our English and Writing skills to compose meaningful paragraphs about what we have learned.
