Greetings! My name is Mrs. Mary Sabatino. I am the Title 1 Instructional Support Teacher and Reading Specialist at Juniata Elementary School. I am proud to say that I’m a past AAHS graduate and have lived all my life in the Blair County area. I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and my masters of education from Saint Francis College. Last year, I received my reading specialist certification.
Being at Juniata is like coming home for me. I my first classroom was here in teaching fourth grade in 1995. From there, I spent 15 years teaching third and fourth grade at Baker Elementary School. In 2010, I was asked to become a Title 1 Instructional Coach at Washington and Jefferson. When the district closed W&J, I was given the privilege to come back to Juniata and become a part of this family, again. I truly enjoy working with the student, families, and staff at Juniata. I get to teach reading to a few groups of students, meet with all grade levels, and help with the planning of our Parent Involvement Events. Some other aspects of my job are to provide embedded professional development, instill best instructional strategies, and collect/analyze data. At home, I’m also blessed! For over twenty years, I’ve been married to my husband, Mark. We have two beautiful daughters, Elizabeth and Rachel, and a Yorkie dog names Rocco. As a family, we like to go bicycling, swimming, and enjoy our movie nights. I most importantly enjoy reading with a cup of tea!
